Revisiting Colton
The photographic object can misconstrue and influence what can be remembered; often creating a sentimental yearning for a past that didn’t actually exist. As a longing child, I’ve grown into a longing adult often looking into the past, trying to recollect memories, process truths and habitually romanticizing connections I’ve never had. Connecting the family picture album to the landscape of Colton, CA, both reveal how much is lost through time. As life moves forward and changes, there is a desire to return to this place of origin, to relive the happenings and to perhaps bring truth to what may have seemed better.
